FOCAL is funded by:
Since 1999, FOCAL has provided services to students in grades K-12. The program has successfully retained elementary students who remain active in the program throughout their middle and high school years.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT: 
Through field trips and hands-on activities that challenge students to think as innovators and creators, students gain skills essential to success in STEM fields such as problem-solving and collaboration. Students are also mentored by professionals in STEM industries. Students are taught academic fundamental in a small group settings by certified teachers. Educational games and activities are used to increase skills.  

BULLYING / GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Classes are taught by certified teachers and have frequent guest speakers such as police officers and victims of gun violence. Students are taught common sense, evidence-based, bullying and gun violence prevention measures to help save the lives of our youth. FOCAL has found great success in providing our high schools students with employment opportunity as an alternation to criminal activity.  

PHYSICAL FITNESS / HEALTH
The program’s location provides easy access for student’s to participate in individual and team sports such as tennis and football. Students also learn proper strength training and how to work well as a team. A healthy snack and dinner are provided daily to students.

COLLEGE and CAREER PREPARATION:
Students receive assistance in monitoring high school graduation requirements and SAT prep., as well as attend local and statewide college tours. Students in grades 8 to 12 participate in a variety of activities to explore career options.
